TEACHERS TRAINING
Inner Peace Yoga Center, a Yoga Alliance Registered Yoga School, is taking deposits for its 2008 Teacher's Certification Training. The program will begin in Sept. 2008 and will run through June 2009. It will include both a certification track for those who wish to teach and a non-certification track for those who wish to study yoga in-depth, but don’t necessarily want to teach. Classes will be held Thursday nights; there will also be three weekend seminars over the course of the 10 months.
Our training follows the Yoga Alliance standards for a 200-hour training, and will include the following areas of study:
- Asana/Pranayama/Kriyas
- Relaxation/Meditation
- Chanting/Mantras/Prayers
- Yoga Philosophy/Psychology
- Anatomy & Physiology
- Body-Mind Connection
- Yoga for Life/Business Aspects
- Ayurveda/Diet & Nutrition
- Teaching Methodology/Practicum
- Yoga as Therapy
The majority of the training will be done by Inner Peace Yoga Center directors Charles and Carol Crenshaw. They have 60+ years of experience between them practicing and teaching yoga, meditation, and the health benefits of balanced living. They both hold masters degrees in the field and are E-RYT 500+ Yoga Alliance certified instructors. The trainers will also include other esteemed guest teachers such as:
Kevin Logan, M.D.
John Peterson, M.D.
Dave Graf, C.M.T.
Jaime Stover-Schmitt, Ed.D., author of Every Woman’s Yoga
Applicants, by the training start date, must have a minimum of two years of experience practicing yoga, with at least six months spent under the supervision of a teacher. The cost of the entire program is $2500 (non-certification track is less). Space is limited, so we suggest applying as soon as possible. A $1000 deposit will hold you a spot.
